   Blanquit, good for you. You could serve as a positive example in your community. Unfortunately too many in the minority communities think it’s “being white” to work hard and rise above your circumstances. White people should not have a monopoly on being successful, the doors are open to all who want to work hard and contribute to society in a positive way! And it’s not the white way, it’s just the RIGHT way!

   I have bad news for you but caucasians control the greater majority of the wealth, knowledge and positions of power in this world. After that come Asians, then hispanics and Africans. It’s just a fact. And that ain’t gonna’ change anytime soon so don’t have any allusions otherwise. I see a lot of prejuidce towards white people here, perhaps you should consider putting forth the hand of goodwill to ALL people and stop hating on your white brethren.

   I work six days a week and go 2 college full time. Everyone in my familly works. My Grandfather lost 3 ribs in WWII. I hardly call that lazy and worthless in society

    I’m happy we Puerto Ricans have parades, music artists, actors/actresses,politicians, etc. NO matter how bad people portray Puerto Ricans we strive to do the best! It might not be to the “white” person’s standart but we do the best possible. I wish “whites” went through all the bullshit my people went through. Discrimination is a bitch but you know what?

    i live in london and there arn’t any PR’s not that i have come across anyways.but it seems they love where there from especially the 1′nz in NY but do they no there history to love there culture enough if they don’t then they need to sit there ass down becouse they don’t know what there really representing.but then again only God can judge not me.

    The PuertoRican parade is a NewYorkCity tradition.When PuertoRicans arrived to NewYork in the 40s,50s,60s they found many hardships discrimination and poverty.The Puerto Rican parade became a safe house a comming together for pride,love and identity in a cold harsh city.

    “Puerto Ricans” in New York, sicken me. That includes J-LO(of course some are an exception). They claim to be so proud (in a very exaggerated way), but they know nothing about the island yet they are constantly saying Puerto Ricans are this way;that way. Oh yeah, and then they try to bash Puerto Ricans from the island too. They know what they’re talking about. Note, this is coming from a Puerto Rican in Illinois.

    I have to admit, as a Newyorican born and raised, I am tired of newyork ricans who claim to love Puerto Rico and their “roots” yet no very little or next to nothing about the island and it’s history! fuckin phonies and that includes that washed out Jlo. She is not Jenny from the block as she claims, she grew up middle class with money, yet I grew up poor and on welfare. She DOES NOT represent me.
