Cameron Diaz continues to mourn the loss of her beloved father at home with her family, which meant skipping a press junket on Saturday, for her new movie with Ashton Kutcher, What Happens In Vegas.

But, Ashton showed up to the premiere with a hand-written note from his costar, thanking everyone for all of their love and good thoughts during this tough time. Here’s what it said:

First of all I want to thank all of you for your support over the years.

So many films, so many weekends discussing films. I was really looking forward to this weekend getting to talk to my friends about a film that I am so proud of.

Due to the loss of my father I have chosen to be with my family this weekend. But it was important for me to convey to all of you how much I love this film. We really did have the best time, most fun and laughs making it. I know that the stories Ashton, Rob [Corddry] and [Director] Tom [Vaughan] share with you will illustrate that point. I was fortunate to work with a group of truly gifted individuals that share the common denominator of a generous heart and wickedly sick sense of humor.

This weekend I am screening What Happens in Vegas for my family. It was a unanimous decision that we all needed to share a good laugh. After all that’s why we make films like these. So people can leave behind their worries for a couple of hours. Have a good laugh.

I picture all of your smiles and it makes me happy.

Thank you for your continued support. It is much appreciated.

This is straight out of the “OWWWW” file.

Kenny Chesney managed to get on stage and perform his little cowboy hat heart out, after getting his foot crushed in an elevator-type platform, that was supposed to life him to his entrance in the middle of Williams-Brice Stadium, in Columbia, SC.

The country music man’s right foot got caught in the lifting device on Saturday night, but Kenny managed to complete his entire performance, though not without hobbling around. After the show, medics had to cut his boot off to assess the extent of the injury (which is not currently known).

But the good ‘ol boy that he is, Kenny issued this statement:

“I took one look at those fans, and there was no way I wasn’t going on. Sometimes the energy and the adrenalin pull you through. They had come to rock, and there was no way I was sending them home with anything less than the best of what me and my guys came to do – put it all out there and give them back at least as good as they gave us. Honestly, through the pain, through all of it, Columbia, S.C., totally got me through.”

Now that’s dedication. If I stub my toe I have to cancel all of my activities for the next month.
